Who are we?
The Quantitative Analysis in Danske Bank, FI&C is an ambitious team working with applied mathematics in the financial industry. FI&C is dealing on the financial market with Fixed Income and Currencies, and the majority of our employees are working on the trading floor. The quant department is working in the areas of the financial markets, where more advanced mathematics are necessary to address financial and risk management problems. The Department consists of people from many countries, presently 12 nationalities. The work situations are similarly broad, as some roles consists of very focused model development in a closed group, while other roles has a strong element of communicating with traders and sales in many different areas, with people with many different backgrounds.
The role and the First Year Analyst-programme
This position offers a rare opportunity to learn and grow as a quantitative analyst, as you will be given a unique chance to collaborate with the bank’s experts and to work with top industry level analytics, unified across asset classes. You will support a wide area of businesses stretching from fixed-income and Foreign Exchange to equity derivatives and corporate debt trading. The problems worked on are price modelling, risk calculations, as well as machine learning and algorithms for electronic and algorithmic trading.

The First Year Analyst-programme consists of three learning modules and gives the opportunity for two short-term rotations. The programme offers a chance to build a useful network within the bank, and is an excellent way to get to know our organisation. In addition, the rotation opportunities enable you to broaden your knowledge and skill set, to give you a wider understanding of our business and add new perspectives to bring back to your original desk.
Who are you?
You are finishing your MSc or PhD degree in mathematics, physics, mathematical finance or related fields. You have practical development skills as well as a profound theoretical background with a strong understanding in the fields of probability theory, stochastic analysis, partial differential equations and an interest in practical problem solving. Numerical analysis is used heavily, so it is imperative that you are fluent in one or more programming languages. Working independently and taking ownership is second nature to you.
